ur relationship with horses started many years ago. Born in the southern State of Rio Grande do Sul and living with cattle and horses since I was a boy, my passion was the local straight line race courses, very traditional in the south of the country, with cross-breed Arabians or Creoles. On our first contact with the Mangalarga Marchador in Sao Paulo, we were lured by their beauty, docility, and outstanding gait qualities, such as easiness and gestures and began our stud in the municipal district of Ibiuna in May, 1997.
Starting with a lot of enthusiasm, devotion and good broodmares, we chose to begin with lineage 53 and then introduce the JB lineage. In the first five years, we used the stallions País da Selva Morena, Jacarandá de Jaborandi, Rubi LJ and Destaque Botafogo. Right after the first breedings we were lucky to get our first champion, Astro Nova Tradição, the foal of Jacarandá and Flor Paloverde.
Unfortunately his life was short, leaving only two foals that are now being trained for riding. In 2001, already with a larger number of broodmares and some good products, we acquired the outstanding Maragato LJ, and Orixá de Patrocinio, a large step forward towards product quality. We can surely state that the crossbreeding of 53 and JB was the best choice for our stud.In 2004 we bought Patriarca de Guarantã, Reserved Marching Horse Champion at the National and at the CBM in 2002 and the foal of Carvão LJ, beyond any doubt a good choice of breeder. In 2006, in addition to those mentioned, we started with another stallion, Eldorado da Nova Tradição, son of Maragato LJ and Jatiuca do Guega, a splendid bay horse of great genetic quality from of our stud.
The increasing number of animals brought the need for more space and we chose Santa Mariana Farm, located in the municipal district of Porto Ferreira, at the km 229 of the Anhanguera highway, the new Nova Tradição address.
